Buying a new home can be a difficult decision whether you’re buying a new one or refurbishing an older home, there are ways in which you can can make your house feel like your home.
When buying a new build property, be sure to make it feel unique with a personal touch – one of our customers has used Alkythane in their conservatory to give it a modern touch. Check out @marta_kop_home on Instagram to see how using a bold colour can change the feel of a home.
Alkythane is a single pack, high performance anti-corrosion topcoat for metal and other surfaces. We recommended this product to be used in a conservatory as this is extra durable because of the polyurethane addition.
Polyurethane coatings are hard wearing and can protect base material from corrosion, weathering and abrasion. We supply these coatings in either gloss or satin so you can choose the type of finish you would like on your substrate.
If you’re planning on buying a slightly older home sometimes walls can have stains on from the previous years. A great product to use is Zinsser Coverstain as this product can be used for your interior and exterior walls. This all-purpose oil-base primer-sealer can be used over or under any oil or acrylic architectural paint and is also ideal for new construction and refurbishment.
One of the best points about Zinsser Coverstain is that this product is able to seal water, smoke and nicotine stains. I personally have moved into a house where the previous occupier had smoked. Using this product allowed me to freshen the walls and make my home look new.
We often get asked about re-doing kitchen worktops! Rust-Oleum have a worktop kit designed specifically for this! The kit includes a DVD on how to use the products to transform your kitchen. This method saves you money so that you don’t have to get a whole new kitchen fitted!
Although these are just a few ideas to get creative in your new home we can always help with any ideas you have. We can help recommend the right products for the exterior and interior of your home. Give us a call on 01902 710057 to discuss different paint options for your home.
